COLLOQUIUM ON CANADA-VIETNAM COOPERATION IN HIGHER EDUCATION AND RESEARCH
COLLOQUE SUR LA COOPÉRATION CANADO-VIETNAMIENNE EN FORMATION POSTSECONDAIRE ET EN RECHERCHE
Vietnam is a country on the move with a high pace of growth during the past decade. In this context, higher education has been identified as a key area for development with ambitious projects and objectives. Vietnam is presently engaging itself in a reform process in order to broaden and enhance its higher education basis; at the same time, more than ever before, a large number of Vietnamese students is sent abroad for perfecting their training. The timing is thus well-set for intensifying the dialogue and collaboration between Canada and Vietnam, and the Colloquium on Canada-Vietnam Cooperation in Higher Education and Research aims at contributing to this effort.
The Colloquium will be a forum for exchanges and discussions on different means to improve existing ties between Canadian and Vietnamese academics/experts both at university and college levels, to learn from past experience and to project on future collaboration. Moreover, it will be an opportunity for policy makers from government and representatives from the private sector to work jointly with trainers and researchers on aspects relating to social, cultural and economical objectives of higher education and research.
